Every beauty commercial out there emphasizes 3 skin care steps: cleanse, tone and moisturize. What they don’t tell you is that there’s another step – exfoliate, right in between the toner and the moisturizer. While there are quite a number of exfoliants out there, the ones that actually do the job of preventing blemishes, acne and blackheads are not so numerous. My top preferences are Avene Cleanance K Cream Gel and Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Gel.
2.Tea tree oil
This is my most recent find but it’s already proven a life saver. Applied in small quantitities, with the help of a cue tip, only where needed (blemished, red areas), it helps reduce breakouts considerably. It has a strong medicinal smell, but that goes away quite fast, it’s inexpensive and a little amount goes a long way. You can find a wide range of variants, one of the best being The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil.
3.Deep moisturizing mask
I’m guessing most of us already own at least one moisturizer and use it regularly. But for the colder months, a little extra help never hurt nobody. Once a week, a deep moisturizing mask, such as Sephora’s Rose Mask, does a great job in brightening your skin and helping it fight the cold without getting too dry!
