We’ve all heard that we should have 3 proper meals and 2 snacks every day. But bagels and chocolate chip cookies, while very easy to reach, don’t do the trick when you’re aiming for a healthy lifestyle. Fruits, such as apples, apricots or even a banana are much better choices, but not as exciting as the following suggestions:
Cashews, almonds and goji mix
I’m sure you know all about healthy fats and how they should be a part of your diet. All sorts of nuts fall under this category, but you should carefully watch the quantities as they can provide a rather large calorie intake. For a healthy snack, try 10-15 cashews, 10 almonds and a handful of goji berries!
Low fat yogurt with oats and berries
I don’t know about you, but personally I don’t find plain, low fat yogurt all that appealing. But when you add 2-3 strawberries, a handful of blueberries, 20 g of oats or granola and even a tsp of honey, it’s a whole
different delicious story!
Peanut butter and fruits
Same as nuts, peanut butter is a great snack in small quantities. For extra health points, you can dip apple slices in it (and maybe sprinke granola on top) or you can spread it on rice cakes and top it off with banana slices. Talk about yumm!
